Introducing Gem-E: The Outbound Agent Powered by Signals
Outbound is evolving and revenue teams today are under more pressure to “do more with less”. In order to help revenue teams with their aggressive goals, we built Gem-E, our new AI Outbound Agent.
Gem-E was built to help sales development reps (SDRs) identify, prioritize, and engage with high-value accounts and contacts more efficiently.
At UserGems, we believe that AI for sales needs to be built differently – from the ground up with accurate data as the foundation. The solution isn't to add an AI wrapper on top of generic data - otherwise everyone will sound the same and at worst it will be completely off. [which it often is]
Accurate data is the foundation for every signal and we believe that accurate data is also the necessary foundation for AI in go-to-market to be successful.
The second critical piece is your own data: your CRM history, call recordings, emails, and notes. There’s so much untapped knowledge within your systems that’s often ignored. AI needs that context to prioritize accounts and craft relevant messaging.
Only then can AI truly improve the quality of your outreach — not just the quantity.
All of this led us to build Gem-E, our AI Outbound Agent.
- Accurate data is at its heart. If you can't trust the data, you can't trust the AI. Many providers are saying that good enough is good enough. It isn’t. Not with AI.
- It’s built on top of your data. Gem-E combines your CRM data with our proprietary signals to draft messages that feel handcrafted by your best reps.
- And it gives you full control by integrating into your tech stack. This is not a shadow system running autonomously in the background.
Here’s an in-depth look at how Gem-E works and fits seamlessly into your team’s workflow:
How Gem-E Works: Create & Enrich
Gem-E uses UserGems proprietary signals to identify and prioritize the right prospects using:
People Signals: Past Champions, New Hires & Promotions, Referrals and identifying the rest of the buying group
Company Signals: Customer Competitors, Funding, Hiring, Website Visits & Intent
Gem-E also factors in your CRM data like:
- When to re-engage with Closed Lost Opportunities
- What accounts and contacts are best-fit for you based on your recent Closed Won Opps
- Product Usage
- Other past users to reference in messaging
As Jay Vira, our Product Manager, explains:
“The beauty of Gem-E is how it connects multiple layers of data to surface leads that are not just relevant but actionable. It takes the guesswork out of outbound and arms reps with a prioritized list of opportunities.”
By combining these data points, Gem-E ensures you’re spending time on accounts and contacts that are more likely to convert, boosting efficiency and outcomes.
Prioritizing Accounts and Contacts
Gem-E ranks accounts and contacts based on how likely they are to convert based on signals like:
Accounts:
Accounts are identified, scored and ranked based on how many signals (both account level and person level) are present. Gem-E will also find net-new accounts that match your ICP that have signals.
Gem-E’s scoring is dynamic and updated as new signals emerge, ensuring your pipeline never goes stale.
Contacts:
Contacts are also identified and ranked based on the likelihood they will respond to a message based on their person level signals. Gem-E ranks your existing contacts if they are already in your CRM and finds net-new contacts using signals.
Not so fun fact: most companies are missing 70% or more of these contacts in their CRM.
These contacts are then sent directly to your CRM and Sales Engagement tools so sales teams can continue to work within the platforms they know best.
Jay notes:
“We designed the prioritization engine to feel intuitive for SDRs. It’s not just about giving you data—it’s about telling you, ‘Here’s where your time is best spent today."
Messaging
Gem-E doesn’t just identify leads—it also creates personalized outreach messages, based on hundreds of signal combinations ensuring SDRs can not only engage effectively, but also stand out in the crowd. Examples include:
As Jay puts it:
“The messaging suggestions are tailored to the context of the lead. It’s like having a playbook written for you, ensuring every interaction feels relevant and personalized.”
Gem-E on Auto-Pilot vs Co-Pilot
People tend to think of “copilot” vs “autopilot” as very black & white — AI only surfaces info vs. AI does everything. While it’s actually a spectrum. Gem-E integrates seamlessly with Sales Engagement Platforms (SEP) either through Automated Workflows or the UserGems Chrome Extension, allowing SDRs to work efficiently without disrupting their existing workflows.
Here’s how it works:
Autopilot:
Define what types of accounts should run on auto-pilot, then Gem-E will find prospects with signals that match your ICP then create and send messages on your reps’ behalf.
Co-Pilot:
Gem-E will find prospects with signals that match your ICP then create messages in your SEP which your reps’ can verify, tweak and send out.
When SDRs view an account in Outreach or Salesloft, Gem-E automatically highlights top-priority contacts, along with relevant insights and signals.
UserGems Chrome Extension for Salesloft and Outreach generates tailored messaging templates based on account signals, which SDRs can tweak or use directly.
“The integration with Outreach and Salesloft ensures SDRs can move seamlessly between discovery and execution. It’s a productivity multiplier,” Jay explains.
This streamlined process saves time, reduces manual research, and ensures reps always have a clear plan for action.
Why Gem-E
Gem-E is AI you can trust, it doesn’t just provide more leads—it helps SDRs focus on the right leads with personalized insights and scalable workflows. By integrating with the tools you already use, Gem-E ensures you’re spending less time researching and more time connecting.
As Jay sums it up:
“Gem-E is about making outbound smarter, not harder. It’s built to help sales teams achieve more with less effort.”
